From Edinburgh to Korea

Meet the people and the place

Matt Gammell and Marcus Pickering established Summerhall Distillery in Edinburgh in 2013. Its official archive records the transformation of a former veterinary-school space into a working distillery.

Looking at the people and their surroundings offers a different introduction to a brand. Before the finished bottle, there are workbenches, equipment and small decisions.

The distillery’s actual equipment; this photograph does not identify where a particular whisky was distilled.

More than one kind of craft

Bottling and labelling belong in this picture too. Preparing a vessel, working with the liquid and putting the right information on the bottle are distinct tasks. Together they make the finished object easier to understand.

Continuing the conversation in Korea

The Broody Hen introduces the character of the whisky. Our Summerhall cask platform provides a place to explore sourcing, maturation proposals and private bottling briefs.

Korean-aging and future-release content describes project directions, not an operating-facility announcement or a completed release. Confirmed developments will be identified separately.
